National Açaí Bowl Day: Celebrate with SAMBAZON

It's our favorite holiday and we couldn't be more ready to celebrate the Delicious Powers of Açaí with our community. We have many fun ways to get involved in this special day honoring the Amazon superfood we all know and love. Just don't forget your purple smile!

As the pioneer of Organic Amazon Superfoods, we felt a responsibility to create a day dedicated to the purple power of Açaí. And there's was no better way to celebrate than with a national holiday! Our first celebration of National Açaí Bowl Day took place on April 6th, 2013. Over 300 juice and smoothie bars nationwide as well as our Açaí Bowl Shop Locations participated in the inaugural event with promotions such as half off Açaí Bowls.

“I can vividly remember experiencing my first Açaí bowl in Brazil, and how after one bite I was hooked,” said Ryan Black, CEO and Co-Founder of SAMBAZON. “Since that first bowl, we’ve made it our mission to share this Amazon Superfood with the world in a way that matters and adds value to everyone involved. National Açaí Bowl Day is an invitation to experience the healthy, organic flavors of Brazil that inspired the SAMBAZON founding mission.”

Açaí is more than just a purple berry. In fact, it's thought to be the most powerful superfood in the Amazon. Grown on the Açaí palm in the floodplains of the rainforest and wild harvested by hand, this nutritional powerhouse has long been a staple of indigenous diets.

Açaí is full of anthocyanins that tackle free radicals to help keep your defenses high. Just like blueberries, only tastier! Açaí supports heart health, brain function, and healthy skin and hair with a fatty acid profile similar to that of olive oil, walnuts, and fish! Açaí is low in naturally occurring sugars which means less sugar spikes and more goodness.

The taste of Açaí is said to be distinctively exotic - somewhere in between mixed berries, dark chocolate, and red wine. Who said healthy can't taste exquisite? Açaí pronunciation can be difficult at first, but this video can help you solve the mystery and master the AH-SIGH-EE pronunciation once and for all.

Açaí Bowls are both delicious and nutritious, and the perfect way to get a wholesome breakfast that fuels you for your day ahead. Why choose SAMBAZON as your Açaí Bowl source? Each time you purchase a SAMBAZON product, you can feel good knowing you are helping the Amazon and its people while nourishing your own body.

SAMBAZON helps to protect the Amazon Rainforest and its rich biodiversity by working directly with family farmers who wild-harvest the Açaí from tall palm trees. We care for the people we work with, the planet we live on, and the prosperity of everyone involved. It’s a sustainable business philosophy called the Triple-Bottom-Line.
